1. Introduction
Helix Apps LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Chirpn mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Chirpn. Please read it carefully. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account & Contact Information: Your email address and display name, provided via Google Sign-In.
- Profile Information: Age, gender, and dating preferences you enter during onboarding.
- Voice Recordings: Voice pitches and voice notes you record within the App, stored securely in Firebase Storage.
- Photos: A profile photo you optionally upload. Photos are only visible to other users after a mutual voice exchange.
- Approximate Location: City and country only. We do not collect or store precise GPS coordinates.
- Device Identifiers: Push notification tokens (FCM) to deliver in-app notifications. User identifiers assigned by Firebase Authentication.
- Usage & Analytics Data: App interactions, feature usage, and session data collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the service.
- Diagnostic Data: Crash reports and performance logs collected via Firebase to maintain app stability.
- Subscription Information: Purchase and entitlement data processed by RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. We do not store payment card details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
- To match you with compatible users based on voice content and profile preferences.
- To power AI Wingman coaching, compatibility scoring, and voice transcription via Google Gemini.
- To deliver push notifications about new matches, voice notes, and activity.
- To process and manage premium subscriptions.
- To monitor for safety, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To improve the App through analytics and diagnostic data.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Firebase (Google LLC) for authentication, database, storage, and analytics; Google Gemini for AI features; RevenueCat for subscription management. All providers are bound by data processing agreements.
- Other Users: Your display name, voice pitch, and (after mutual exchange) profile photo are visible to matched users within the App.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
- Voice notes are automatically deleted after 90 days from creation.
- Your account and profile data are retained for as long as your account is active.
- Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format.
To exercise any of these rights, or to delete your account, contact us at privacy@chirpn.app. California residents may also have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale (we do not sell data). We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
7. Account Deletion
You may delete your Chirpn account at any time from the Profile tab within the App, or by emailing privacy@chirpn.app. Upon deletion, your profile, voice recordings, photos, and match history will be permanently removed within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Chirpn is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Security Rules, encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase App Check (App Attest), and restricted API access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Continued use of Chirpn after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
